Terms
Last updated: 13 August 2026
These terms cover your use of this website, bangplugins.com, and the licences our plugins are released under. If you buy Bang! Cart Pro, the section on Pro applies to you as well.
Who you are dealing with
Bang! Plugins is a trading name associated with Bang! Graphics, which is a trading name of Andrew Luckman, a sole trader in the United Kingdom. There is no company: no company number, and no registered office.
Our address for correspondence is 29 Broomfield Avenue, Leigh on Sea, Essex, SS9 4BL.
You can reach us at support@bangplugins.com, or through the support form. Either arrives in the same inbox, and it is Andy who answers.
The free plugins
Our free WordPress plugins are released under the GPL-2.0-or-later licence. That licence, included with each plugin, governs your use of them: you can use them on as many sites as you like, for any purpose, without charge. Where a plugin is distributed through WordPress.org, that directory’s guidelines also apply.
Who sells Bang! Cart Pro
This is worth being plain about, because it decides who you talk to when something goes wrong with the money.
Freemius, Inc. is the seller. They are the merchant of record for every Bang! Cart Pro licence, which means the purchase contract is between you and Freemius, not between you and us. They take the payment, they issue the licence key, the receipt and the VAT invoice, and they run the account where your subscription lives. Their own terms apply to the transaction and are linked from the checkout.
Any VAT or sales tax is added by Freemius at the checkout, under their own registration. They collect it and account for it. We are not VAT registered and we do not charge you tax. If you are VAT registered yourself, entering your VAT number at the checkout removes it.
Prices are shown on the pricing page and at the checkout, in pounds, dollars or euros. The price you see on our pages is before tax; the checkout shows the total you will actually pay before you enter a card.
What these terms cover is the other half: the licence itself, what it lets you do, and what we owe you afterwards.
What a Pro licence gives you
Bang! Cart Pro is an add-on. It requires the free Bang! Cart for Stripe plugin and does nothing on its own.
- A licence is annual, and counted in sites. Single site, 5 sites, or unlimited sites. The tier you buy sets how many live sites may run Pro at once.
- Copies on your own machine are free and unlimited. A site at localhost, .local or .test does not use up a slot, so development and testing cost you nothing extra.
- You can move a licence between sites as often as you like. Release it on the old site under Bang! Cart → Account and activate it on the new one with the same key. You do not need to ask us.
- Staging and backups do not cost you a site. Restoring a backup to the same address is not noticed at all, and a copy at a new address asks what it is rather than switching anything off.
- While your licence is live you get updates and support. That is what the annual fee buys, and it is what stops when it lapses.
The full detail is in Your Pro licence in the documentation.
Renewals
A Pro licence renews automatically each year at the price you are on, so your updates and support do not lapse by accident. Freemius email you 30 days before each renewal, and everything about the money lives in your account with them: the card on file, the renewal date, past invoices, and cancelling.
Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not end your licence there and then. Your licence runs on until the date you have already paid up to, and only then does it expire. What expiry means is the next section, and it is better news than people expect.
When a licence expires
Your shop keeps selling, and every Pro feature carries on working.
This is a deliberate promise rather than an oversight, and it is worth stating in the terms rather than only in the documentation. Product variants, automatic discounts, postage that scales with the order, customer-set prices, checkout on your own site and order notes all keep doing exactly what they did the day before. A card that failed, a renewal you forgot, or a subscription you cancelled on purpose does not take a working shop off sale.
What stops is updates and support. You stay on the version you have, you stop receiving fixes and new features, and you are on your own if something breaks. Renew whenever you want them back.
The two cases where Pro does stop
For completeness, because the section above is a strong promise and you should know its edges. Pro stands down completely in two situations, and expiry is not one of them:
- It was never activated. Pro is installed, but no licence key was ever entered on that site.
- The licence was withdrawn. In practice that means the purchase was refunded or charged back, so the licence it paid for no longer stands. The one other case is described under Your licence key below.
Standing down means Pro registers no features at all, and the free plugin behaves exactly as it does when Pro is not installed.
Nothing is deleted. Every option, price, band, rule, variant and photograph is kept exactly as you left it, and a licence brings all of it back with nothing to set up again. A product that Pro was pricing stops being offered rather than being sold at a guessed price, because a wrong charge is worse than a paused feature.
Refunds
Thirty days, no quibble. If Pro does not do what you needed and we cannot put it right, ask within 30 days of your purchase and you get your money back.
Refunds are processed by Freemius, because they took the payment. Please write to us first if the problem is the plugin itself, because most things people ask for a refund over turn out to be fixable in ten minutes, and we would rather fix it. If it is not fixable, we will not argue with you about the refund.
Nothing here affects the rights you have by law as a consumer.
Support
Support means us helping you with the plugin: how a feature works, something behaving wrongly, a key that will not activate, a bug. It reaches a person, and that person is Andy. It is offered in English, by email, with no guaranteed response time attached, though in practice it is usually the same working day.
What support does not cover is building your website for you, writing custom code, fixing problems caused by other plugins or by your theme, or anything to do with your Stripe account, which is between you and Stripe. Anything about the money itself - changing a card, cancelling, a missing invoice, a VAT number - goes to Freemius from the link in your receipt, because they hold it.
We support the current version of each plugin. If you are several versions behind, the first thing we will ask is that you update.
Your licence key
Your key identifies your licence and it is yours. Please do not publish it, share it, or sell access to it. Using one key to run more live sites than the tier you bought is the one thing that will get a licence withdrawn, and we would refund the remainder rather than simply switch it off.
This website’s content
The text, artwork and design of this site belong to us. Quote from it or screenshot it for reviews and articles freely, with attribution. Please do not copy pages wholesale or pass our work off as your own.
Accuracy and the roadmap
We work hard to keep everything on this site true, and plainly said. Even so, features, prices and plans can change: anything described as planned or on the roadmap is a statement of intent, not a promise, and carries no dates. Do not buy Pro for something on the roadmap. Buy it for what it does today, which is set out in the documentation.
Prices can change, but not underneath you: a change applies to new purchases, and your own renewal stays at the price you are on unless we tell you otherwise well before it is due.
Third-party links
This site links to other websites, including WordPress.org, Stripe, Freemius and our sibling companies. We are not responsible for the content or practices of other sites.
Liability
This website is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from use of this site or reliance on its content. Your use of the plugins themselves is governed by their licences, which include the GPL’s own warranty terms.
For Pro specifically, and again only to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales or lost data, and any liability we do have is limited to what you paid for your licence in the twelve months before the problem. Please keep your own backups. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version appears on this page with an updated date at the top. The terms that apply to your licence are the ones published when you bought or last renewed it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
Questions
Anything unclear? Ask us through the support form or at support@bangplugins.com. If a term here is unclear enough to need asking about, it is probably badly written, so tell us and we will fix the page too.
